The Chelsea defender hopes his Stamford Bridge team-mate can be key in this season's title chase, having claimed the crown with Leicester last season
David Luiz considers Chelsea team-mate N’Golo Kante to be “one of the best midfielders in the world”.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence over the last 18 months, having been snapped up by Leicester City in the summer of 2015 as a relative unknown with experience of just one season in Ligue 1 with Caen.
He quickly became a key figure for the Foxes, though, and played an instrumental role in their remarkable Premier League title win.
His efforts earned him senior international recognition and a spot in a France side which reached the Euro 2016 final, before a big-money transfer took him to Stamford Bridge.
Kante is now chasing down back-to-back titles, having established himself in Antonio Conte’s first-team, and David Luiz hopes his inspirational tale has a few more exciting chapters to come.
He told Chelsea’s official website: “N’Golo Kante’s history is amazing, as is his play.
“I love him and I think everyone has already seen that I have a good relationship with him.“He was playing in lower divisions and was getting better and better and now he is one of the best midfielders in the world.
“For Leicester he was one of the keys for the title, and I hope he can be one of the keys for the title this season too!”
