Carlo Ancelotti Quashes Talk of Return to Premier League Amid Rumours of Bayern Munich Exit

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has moved to rubbish rumours of a potential return to the Premier League, claiming that he is more than happy staying with the Bundesliga giants. 

The Italian coach had been rumoured to be considering a return to the Premier League at the end of this season, where he had previously won a Premier League and FA Cup double with Chelsea.

Speaking ahead of his side's match Bundesliga match against Mainz this weekend, via the Sun, Ancelotti took the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the Bavarian giants, claiming: "I am very happy here and I would like to stay for a long time. All I can say about my contract is that it runs until June 30, 2019. But I am not thinking about my contract at the moment.

"I only know that I would like to do a good job here.

"I hope to continue here but, after that, if I am not here I have to find another solution. I was in England for two years; I had a a good experience and have good memories of this period. But I also can say I was in France too, with a good experience and good memories. And I was in Spain too with good experience and good memories".

Ancelotti has enjoyes a glittering managerial career, winning three Champions League trophies, a Premier League title, a Serie A title, and a Bundesliga crown with Bayern Munich last season.

However, his side haven't started the league campaign in their usual bullish manner this season, and currently sit in sixth place in the table after last weekend's 2-0 loss to Hoffenheim.

Borussia Dortmund Full-Back Marcel Schmelzer to Miss 6 Weeks With Ankle Ligament Damage

Borussia Dortmund full-back Marcel Schmelzer is set to miss six weeks after sustaining an ankle injury in Saturday's goalless draw against Freiburg.

The club confirmed on Twitter that the Germany international will be absent for over a month following the ankle ligament damage.

The 29-year-old, who was making his first appearance since his recovery from a similar injury in pre-season was withdrawn in the first half at Schwarzwald-Stadion.

An MRI scan has since revealed that Schmelzer ruptured ankle ligaments in his right foot having been tackled by Freiburg's Yoric Ravet, who was sent off for the challenge.

"It looks like it could be a recurrence of the same ankle injury, judging by how it feels," said Dortmund press officer Sascha Fligge immediately after the game.

BVB boss Peter Bosz could be left with even more concern over his defensive options after Marc Bartra was withdrawn after just 18 minutes with a groin problem.

The two defenders join Marco Reus, Raphael Guerreiro, Andre Schurrle, Erik Durm and Sebastian Rode on a growing injury list at the Bundesliga club.

Dortmund's midweek trip to Tottenham in the Champions League is the first of a busy schedule that includes six games over just 17 days.

"We're disappointed,” coach Bosz said after the draw at Freiburg. “Dortmund should win in Freiburg. 

“If you're playing with an extra man for an hour, you have enough time to score a goal. We didn't do enough today. We see the result as two points dropped."

Dortmund Face Injury Crises After Draw With Freiburg

​Dortmund struggled against Freiburg yesterday only managing a draw despite having a man advantage for over an hour. The game ended 0-0 and Freiburg's Yoric Ravet was sent off in the first half but the disappointing result will not be the only concern for Dortmund. 

Marc Bartra had to come off the pitch after only 18 minutes and is now a doubt for Dortmund's Champions League group match against Tottenham on Wednesday. Bartra reportedly has a groin problem according to reports on ​Bundesliga.com and he’ll have tests on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury. 

Furthermore Bartra was not the only injury problem Dortmund faced in their match against Freiburg. Marcel Schmelzer was carried off on a stretcher after the red card incident with Ravet, Schmelzer took a nasty knock to his ankle after only just returning from an ankle injury.

"It looks like it could be a recurrence of the same ankle injury, judging by how it feels," said Dortmund press officer Sascha Fligge on the subject of Schmelzer. "X-rays don't show ligaments, though, so we'll have to wait for an MRI on the ankle in the morning."

There is a growing list of injured players at BVB as Peter Bosz the Dortmund manager is already without Marco Reus , Raphael Guerreiro , Andre Schurrle , Erik Durm and Sebastian Rode. This does not bode well for Dortmund's upcoming busy schedule, Dortmund's midweek trip to London will be the first of six games in the space of just 17 days.

Inter Reportedly Lineup Bayern Munich Defender Jerome Boateng as January Transfer Target

Inter are reportedly prepared to make a move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng in the January transfer window if he fails to regain his place in Carlo Ancelotti's side.

The 29-year-old was an integral member of the Bavarian side between 2011 and 2015, but has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons which has restricted the German international to just 32 appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern in the last two seasons.

According to ​Tuttomercatoweb, with Boateng's position at Bayern under threat Inter's technicalcoordinator Walter Sabatini is set to meet with the club's owners in the coming days to discuss their transfer plans and budget for January.

This is reportedly where Sabatini is set to raise the prospect of Boateng as a key point of the discussion, after the Italian club are understood to have 'tested the waters' for the 29-year-old on deadline day.

The Nerazzurri are in the market for a centre-back after losing Jeison Murillo to Valencia over the summer, and it has been suggested that Inter will follow up on their summer interest if Boateng continues to struggle for a place in Acenlotti's starting lineup.

The German World Cup winner joined Bayern Munich in 2011 after spending just one season with Manchester City, where he since gone on to make over 190 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

The 29-year-old's last appearance for Bayern came in the last game of the Bundesliga season last term against Freiburg, where the defender was withdrawn from the action in the 32nd minute due to a thigh injury.

Bayern Munich's Left-Back Woes Continue as David Alaba Is Ruled Out of Action Indefinitely

​Bayern Munich's squad has once again fallen victim to a run of injuries, with left-back David Alaba the latest member of Carlo Ancelotti's side to be sidelined, the club have ​confirmed. 

25-year-old Alaba suffered an ankle injury in a challenge during Austria's World Cup qualifier against Georgia on Tuesday and had to be substituted in the 38th minute. 

A subsequent examination in Munich on Wednesday confirmed the left-back will endure a stint on the sidelines, with many now worried it could be a lengthy spell.

Alaba's injury is the latest selection headache for Ancelotti who is now without either off his natural left-back options, as Juan Bernat remains on the injury list as he continues to recover from ankle surgery.  

In better news for Bayern fans, Sebastian Rudy has been cleared of injury after he was taken off as a precaution in Germany's thrashing of Norway on Monday.

The 27-year-old was deemed fit to join training with the club on Thursday, as Bayern gear up for their trip to face Hoffenheim on Saturday, where both clubs will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to their Bundesliga campaign.

German Newspaper Reveals Hidden Figures Behind Divock Origi's Loan Move to Wolfsburg

The loan move for Liverpool's Divock Origi looks, at first glance, like a relatively cheap deal for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg. 

Reports from the deadline day have differed between England and Germany. However, some in Germany have claimed that Wolfsburg are forking out a mere €3m for the Belgian international.

Loan deals nowadays, like permanent transfers, are becoming more and more expensive - one needs only to look at the reported £8m that Swansea are paying Bayern Munich in order to have Renato Sanches for a year to figure that one out.

According to German newspaper Bild, the Reds have inserted a clause into Origi's loan deal that makes the switch more expensive, if the striker doesn't play as much football as Liverpool would like.

If Origi features in over 80% of Wolfsburg's matches this season, the fee stays at the lowly €3m. However, the German paper reports that if he doesn't quite reach that threshold, the fee could rise to as high as €6.5m - closer to earlier English reports.

Liverpool also have the option to recall the attacker in January, if he's needed.

However, it doesn't seem as though Origi is phased by the possibility of returning after Christmas, and looks eager to slot in alongside new strike partner Mario Gomes.

The attacker wrote on Instagram: "Excited to join Wolfsburg and to get the opportunity to play in one of the best leagues in the world in the Bundesliga.

"Thanks to everyone at the club for the support so far and am looking forward to getting started after the international break.

"Goodluck to Liverpool and all of the LFC fans this season too, I'll be watching and supporting from afar."

Mario Götze on Track to Hit Top Form With Dortmund This Season After Illness

After struggling with a metabolic illness that sidelined him from December to July - Mario Götze has impressed against Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin so far this season and is on track to reach his potential. 

Back into the starting eleven, Götze has impressed in hour stints in the Bundesliga, as Dortmund coach Peter Bosz has put his faith in the 25-year-old. Returning to Dortmund has proved to be successful for the German, having made an infamous transfer to Bayern Munich in 2013. 

Having scored the decisive goal in Germany's 2014 World Cup win, Götze's has not followed the path that many anticipated. Failing to make an impact at Bayern, the midfielder sought refuge at where his journey began - and he hasn't looked back since.

Off the back of a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin, speaking to the Bundesliga, Götze commented: “I felt great again on the pitch, I need rhythm and games in order to get my fitness back and be at 100% again.” Clocking up 8.3km and 75 touches, Götze was influential all over the pitch and showed his industrious nature.

Finding success in a deeper midfield role, Bosz will be delighted with Götze's work ethic, which is essential to the success of his 4-3-3 formation. With Shinji Kagawa and Mahmoud Dahoud waiting in the wings, it's a testament to Götze's ability to maintain a starting role in midfield. 

However, the player remains determined to up his minutes on the pitch, “I think from September I’ll be able to play the full 90 minutes, I knew that I had a goal" said Götze. 

"I wanted to be back for pre-season, to train again, and I’m on track. That’s what was decisive for me. Up to now, everything has gone well.”
