The Gunners were torn apart by Bayern as they put five past Arsene Wenger's men, with the visitors reaching an unwanted milestone in the process
A defensive shambles: Arsenal become first English team to concede 200 Champions League goals
Arsenal have become the first English team to concede 200 goals in the Champions League as they crumbled to a 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The Gunners were ripped to shreds by Carlo Ancelotti's side despite being level at half-time in the Allianz Arena.
Arjen Robben gave Bayern the lead as he scored a trademark curling effort with his left foot although Alexis Sanchez struck after 30 minutes to give Arsene Wenger's men hope.
A complete capitulation in the second half, however, saw the visitors concede four without reply, with Thomas Muller rounding off the night after a mistake from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The result means the north Londoners need something of a minor miracle to advance, with it looking increasingly like Arsenal will be dumped out of the competition at the last 16 stage for the seventh season in a row.
And, to rub salt into the wound, the Gunners have now become the first English side to have shipped 200 goals in Europe's premier club competition.
