Some of the greatest Premier League players over the years have hailed from countries outside of the continent, yet who makes the all-time scoring list of such individuals?

Here is the breakdown of the eight highest scoring non-Europeans in Premier League history...

8. Luis Suarez

Liverpool v Newcastle United - Premier League
Number of Premier League goals: 69

Liverpool fans may only just be getting over the idea of Luis Suarez leaving Merseyside now that they have an attack capable of matching the number of goals that the Uruguayan scored for the Reds during his three and a half seasons with the club.

The 30-year-old cost just under £23m when he arrived from Ajax during the 2011 January transfer window, but he quickly became a steal as he settled into life in the Premier League and started scoring goals for fun.

7. Carlos Tevez

Manchester City v Aston Villa - Premier League
Number of Premier League goals: 84

Tevez's arrival in England came as a total surprise to everyone, as West Ham United pulled off a remarkable coup by bringing the Argentine striker, and compatriot Javier Mascherano, to Upton Park on deadline day in August 2006.

His goals saved the Hammers from relegation and he left for Manchester United, with whom he became a two-time Premier League winner. Tevez controversially crossed the city divide to sign for the Citizens and was arguably even more successful at the Etihad Stadium.

6. Mark Viduka

Number of Premier League goals: 92

Best known for his goalscoring exploits for Leeds United, Mark Viduka was equally prolific for  Middlesbrough, whilst his seven strikes for Newcastle United make the Australian the sixth highest non-European goalscorer in Premier League history.

Signed by the Whites from Celtic ahead of the 2000/01 campaign, Viduka scored 17 times in his first season, four of which came in the same game in what was a memorable 4-3 victory over Liverpool at Elland Road.

5. Yakubu

Leeds United v Portsmouth
Number of Premier League goals scored: 95

"Feed the Yak and he score" was a popular for the Nigerian striker and it was accurate. Yakubu, who plied his trade with four different teams in the Premier League, ended up with just five goals short of a century.

His 95 goals came courtesy of spells with Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton and Blackburn Rovers, and he remains Pompey's all-time top scorer in the top flight, with 28 goals in just two seasons at Fratton Park.

4. Emmanuel Adebayor

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Number of Premier League goals scored: 97

Adebayor's reputation in the Premier League is not the best, but nothing can be taken away from the fact that the Togolese frontman is one of the most successful non-Europeans in front of goal in the English top flight.

Arsene Wenger first brought Adebayor to Arsenal in 2006 and he spent three years at the Emirates Stadium, establishing himself as a lethal marksman. He added to his tally whilst on the books of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.

3. Didier Drogba

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Number of Premier League goals scored: 104

Easily Roman Abramovich's best ever signing since arriving to Chelsea, Didier Drogba was instrumental in turning the Blues into one of the biggest teams in the league and was present for the majority of their recent success.

The Ivorian ended his first spell in West London on a century of goals and an additional single season back at Stamford Bridge saw him find the back of the net on four more occasions to finish on 104 goals in the Premier League.

2. Dwight Yorke

Man Utd v Leeds Utd
Number of Premier League goals scored: 123

A Premier League great, Dwight Yorke was sensational in front of goal during the 1990s and early 2000s, scoring 123 times during his 17 seasons in the English top flight to become the highest scoring non-European up until this weekend.

Although the Trinidad & Tobago striker is often associated with Manchester United, with whom he won the treble, Yorke score far more goals for previous club Aston Villa, while also adding to his tally with Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City and Sunderland.

1. Sergio Aguero

Manchester City v Liverpool - Premier League
Number of Premier League goals scored: 124

His goal against Liverpool on Saturday puts Aguero to the summit of this list and to reach 124 goals in just 183 appearances for Manchester City demonstrates the brilliance that is the Argentine international.

Not only is Aguero one of the most deadly and prolific strikers in Premier League history, but the 29-year-old also has the honour of scoring a title-winning goal, in what was his first season in English football.
