6 Classic Clashes Between Everton and Tottenham Ahead of Saturday's Encounter
Everton host Tottenham on Saturday afternoon as both sides return to Premier League action following the international break.

Both sides have struggled to make an impact in the early stages of the season, sitting on four points apiece after three games.
Here's some of the pair's most classic clashes from recent years ahead of this weekend's encounter.
1. Tottenham 5-2 Everton (2005)

A match that was full of goals saw the breakthrough of 20-year-old Dean Marney as he made a major impression in his first Spurs start.
Goals from Marney and Reto Ziegler put Tottenham 2-0 up before Tim Cahill pulled one back for the Toffees. Pedro Mendes and Robbie Keane then made it 4-1 before Marney's stunning strike from 22 yards added gloss to the scoreline.
James McFadden then scored a consolation as Martin Jol's side sealed their sixth win in seven games. Ultimately, that was as good as it got for Marney as he was sold a year later to Norwich after struggling to replicate the form he showed that day.
2. Tottenham 1-4 Everton (1995)

It was FA Cup semi-final day at Elland Road and Everton faced Tottenham looking to secure a spot at Wembley.
Daniel Amokachi stole the headlines for his exploits as the Toffees thrashed Spurs to book their place in the final. Goals from Graeme Stuart and Matt Jackson put the Toffees 2-0 up before Jurgen Klinsmann gave Tottenham a lifeline from the penalty spot.
Amokachi then came on for Paul Rideout and scored a late brace to ensure the result for Joe Royle's men.
3. Tottenham 4-3 Everton (2003)

A topsy-turvy game in a match that was full of action, Glenn Hoddle's side eventually came out as winners at White Hart Lane.
The home side went behind early when Brian McBride put Everton ahead, only to be pegged back four minutes later through Gus Poyet's header. Spurs then took the lead in the second half through Robbie Keane, before Steve Watson equalised eight minutes later.
Keane soon grabbed another but saw his effort cancelled out by Tomasz Radzinski as the Toffees fought back again, but it was to be Keane's day as the Irishman completed his hat-trick and sealed the win for Tottenham.
4. Everton 2-1 Tottenham (2012)

Everton produced two dramatic goals to come back and steal three points from Tottenham's grasp at Goodison Park.
The win saw the Toffees extend their unbeaten run at home to 12 games and leapfrog their opponents into a Champions League spot.
Clint Dempsey put Spurs ahead with just 14 minutes to go before Gylfi Sigurdsson rattled the crossbar. Steven Pienaar headed home in the 90th minute before Nikica Jelavic turned in from close range to send the home fans into raptures.
5. Tottenham 3-3 Everton (1992)

Another game remembered for a remarkable Everton comeback as they came from 3-0 at White Hart Lane to draw 3-3.
In what was Gary Lineker's final home game for Spurs, Paul Stewart and Paul Allen put Tottenham 2-0 up before debutant Jeff Minton added a third going into half-time.
However, Peter Beardsley led the revival for his side with a deflected strike and an effort off the post, setting up a tense and unlikely finale. Nineteen-year-old David Unsworth was the hero, coming off the bench to smash home a volley on his first appearance.
6. Tottenham 3-2 Everton (2017)

A match-up between Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku was the talking point of this game as the two forwards battled it out for last season's Golden Boot.
Kane smashed Tottenham ahead from 20 yards and then converted Dele Alli's through ball after the break to double Spurs' lead. Lukaku then got his name on the scoresheet with nine minutes to go as Everton looked for a way back into the match.
Alli then put the result beyond doubt as he tapped home Harry Winks' free-kick before Everton loanee Enner Valencia beat the offside trap to slot under Hugo Lloris for a late consolation.
